Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
The following are aftercare instructions for your new tattoo. Gilded Raven recommends that you adhere to all of these instructions. Failure to comply may damage the tattoo and increase the risk of infection. Any touch-ups required due to poor aftercare may result in additional charges.
General Aftercare Practices. SHALL BE DONE WITH CLEAN HANDS.
1. Remove the bandage within four hours of receiving your tattoo. Wash with antibacterial soap with clean hands under lukewarm water. Allow the tattoo to air dry and apply a light layer of Aquaphore & unscented lotion.
2. Avoid exposure to the sun in the affected area for at least 14 days. After 14 days, use a sunscreen of at least SPF50 to avoid sun damage.
3. Do not soak the affected area in a tub, sauna, jacuzzi, or go swimming while your tattoo is healing. Showers are fine, but avoid long exposures.
4. Do not rub, pick, scratch, allow any contact with animals, or scrape the affected Loss of color and/or infection could occur.
5. Your tattoo should heal within four to six weeks. Consult a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as redness on site, green / yellow discharge, foul smelling odor, and / or a fever.

If you were given a Saniderm or “Second Skin”, please follow the below instructions:
1. As long as the bandage remains in-tact and does not leak, you may keep the bandage on for three to seven days.
2. If a large ink sack develops, please return to the shop for a rebandage. If you are unable to return to the shop, remove the bandage during a warm shower by pulling upwards and away from the bandage area, then wash and treat as “General Aftercare”.
